Pakistan Is Our Second Home – Iranian President Thanks Pakistan for Supporting Palestine Against Israeli Aggression

In a powerful and heartfelt address, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed deep gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their unwavering support against Israeli aggression in Palestine. Speaking at a joint press conference alongside Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during his official visit to Islamabad, the newly elected Iranian president emphasized unity within the Muslim Ummah and called for regional solidarity in the face of escalating global tensions.

President Pezeshkian began his remarks with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, setting a spiritual tone for the occasion. He underscored the urgent need for unity among Muslim nations, stating that division within the Islamic world only strengthens the enemies of peace and justice. “In this era of turmoil and injustice, especially in Gaza and the broader Middle East, the unity of the Muslim Ummah is not a luxury—it is a necessity,” he said.

He extended sincere thanks to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the people of Pakistan for their warm hospitality, describing the visit as deeply enriching and productive. “Pakistan is not just a neighboring country—it is our second home,” President Pezeshkian remarked. “I am grateful to the leadership and scholars of Pakistan for the meaningful and thought-provoking discussions we’ve had. The wisdom and sincerity of the Pakistani people are evident in every corner of this beautiful land.”

Referring to the Palestinian crisis, the Iranian president noted that Israel continues to commit grave atrocities against the Palestinian people, with full impunity from international powers. He particularly acknowledged Pakistan’s consistent diplomatic and moral support for Palestine at international forums such as the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). “Pakistan has always stood by the oppressed. Your voice against Israeli injustice has resonated with millions across the Muslim world, and for that, we are genuinely thankful,” he said.

The Iranian president went on to stress that Pakistan and Iran share more than just a border — they are bound by common religion, culture, and centuries of shared history. “The teachings of Allama Iqbal are not just a national treasure for Pakistan; they inspire us in Iran as well. His vision of a united Muslim Ummah remains relevant, perhaps now more than ever,” he added, drawing applause from members of the press and attending officials.

President Pezeshkian highlighted that strengthening Pakistan-Iran relations is a central pillar of Iran’s foreign policy. He stated that both countries are now actively working to enhance cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, energy, cultural exchange, border security, and transportation infrastructure. “Our partnership is evolving,” he said. “We are committed to turning our shared values into tangible progress for our peoples.”

On the topic of regional instability, the Iranian president issued a stern warning against what he described as Israel’s destructive role in the region. “Israel is pursuing an agenda that aims to destabilize the entire Middle East. From Gaza to Lebanon, from Syria to the Red Sea, their goal is to sow discord and prevent the unity and development of Muslim countries,” he stated. He urged Muslim nations to remain vigilant and not fall victim to divisive tactics. “We must not allow external forces to exploit our differences. Regional peace and prosperity are interlinked. If one nation suffers, all are affected.”

President Pezeshkian’s remarks come at a time when tensions in the Middle East are at an all-time high. With Israel’s continued bombardment of Gaza and increasing regional military activity, countries like Pakistan and Iran are being called upon to play more assertive diplomatic roles in resolving conflicts and supporting humanitarian causes.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in his response, welcomed the Iranian president and reiterated Pakistan’s firm support for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that Pakistan believes in justice, international law, and the right of all people—especially the oppressed—to live with dignity and freedom. He also acknowledged the strong cultural, historical, and religious ties that unite Pakistan and Iran.

Both leaders agreed to continue deepening bilateral cooperation and enhancing coordination on regional and global issues. The two sides expressed the hope that improved ties would bring economic prosperity and regional stability. Several high-level meetings were held during the Iranian president’s visit, focusing on border security, counterterrorism, trade expansion, and mutual investments.

President Pezeshkian’s visit is being seen as an important step in reinvigorating ties between the two nations following recent diplomatic and economic shifts in the region. His public appreciation of Pakistan’s stance on Palestine is likely to resonate widely across the Muslim world, particularly as nations grapple with how to respond to the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.

As the press conference concluded, President Pezeshkian once again extended his appreciation to Pakistan, reiterating that the future of Muslim nations lies in unity, self-reliance, and mutual respect. “We are one Ummah. Our destinies are intertwined. Let us move forward together—in faith, in strength, and in the pursuit of justice,” he concluded.

His remarks, while diplomatically measured, carried deep emotional and political weight. In an era where global alliances are shifting and the Muslim world is confronting both external aggression and internal fragmentation, the Iranian president’s message of brotherhood and resilience struck a meaningful chord.

The visit ended on a note of optimism, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to peace, development, and solidarity in the Islamic world.
