Lahore:Seminars Held Nationwide by National Grid Company for Employee Safety

Awareness sessions were conducted in cities including Lahore, Sahiwal, Daharki, and Quetta.
Employees were trained in first aid, emergency response, and field operations.
“If employees are safe, the organization will progress. I am pleased to see the enthusiasm among the staff,” said Muhammad Shahid Nazir.

Lahore (Monitoring Desk):
As part of the “Safety Awareness Campaign 2025,” the National Grid Company of Pakistan (formerly NTDC) organized safety training seminars at various 500 kV and 220 kV grid stations across the country. The objective of the campaign is to comply with NEPRA’s guidelines, raise awareness about employee safety, and equip them with modern safety skills to minimize the risk of accidents in the field.

Seminars were held at key grid stations including New Lahore, Yousufwala (Sahiwal), Gutti (Faisalabad), New Kot Lakhpat, WAPDA Town Ravi, Ghazi Road, Bund Road, Shalimar, Sarfraz Nagar, Gujrat, Daharki, Jhimpir-II (Sindh), and Industrial-II Quetta, among others.

Participants received hands-on training in first aid, emergency response, field operations, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). NGC officers also gave detailed briefings on personal protective equipment (PPE), field inspection procedures, transmission line hazards, and NEPRA’s newly introduced Permit to Work (PTW) formats.

Rescue 1122 teams joined sessions at some stations and provided practical knowledge related to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE), fire extinguishing, and handling emergency situations. A large number of employees from various NGC departments—maintenance, operations, protection, security, and administration—actively participated in the campaign.

Engineer Muhammad Shahid Nazir, Managing Director of NGC, appreciated the campaign and stated, “Our staff is at the core of our operations. Through this safety awareness campaign, the staff is demonstrating professional commitment. These efforts are not only crucial for the protection of our employees but also for the security of our energy infrastructure.”
