Peshawar: In connection with the election of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has confined over 80 members of the provincial assembly inside the Chief Minister House in Peshawar to prevent any possible political pressure, defections, or undesirable incidents.

According to sources, more than 80 PTI lawmakers have been accommodated at the CM House, while 5 to 10 MPAs are allowed to briefly visit their homes and return.

Party leadership has also restricted lawmakers from receiving unnecessary phone calls to maintain strict discipline and unity within the ranks.

A meeting of PTI’s parliamentary party was also held at the Chief Minister House, attended by Asad Qaiser, Junaid Akbar, Salman Akram Raja, and other key leaders.

During the meeting, the party finalized its strategy for the upcoming CM election and also discussed plans to protest against any unconstitutional measures.

The party’s nominee for Chief Minister, Sohaib Afridi, while addressing the meeting, said:

“PTI founder Imran Khan has nominated me for the position of Chief Minister. It is our duty to follow his guidance and keep the party united under constitutional principles.”
