In a bold and confrontational statement, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Suhail Afridi challenged the federal government to impose Governor’s Rule in the province if it dares, asserting that neither he nor his government fears any such move. His remarks have added fuel to the intensifying political tensions between the KP government—led by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)—and the federal authorities.

Speaking to the media, Suhail Afridi claimed that the province already operates under what he termed the “rule” of PTI founder Imran Khan, suggesting that no additional political intervention is required. “If they have the courage, let them impose Governor’s Rule. We are not afraid,” he declared, emphasizing that KP’s mandate belongs to the PTI and the people who elected them.

Responding to a question on the law-and-order situation in the province, the chief minister sharply criticized what he described as “closed-door policies” being imposed on KP by outside forces. He insisted that those attempting to enforce remote, disconnected strategies must recognize the unique challenges of the province. He further added that Suhail Afridi was elected with an overwhelming majority, which reflects the strong public mandate for the PTI leadership in the province.
