Karachi Weather Alert: Cold Wave to Intensify, Temperature May Drop to Single Digits This Weekend

Karachi: The Meteorological Department has warned residents of Karachi to brace for colder weather over the weekend, with temperatures potentially dropping to single digits.

According to the department, cold northeasterly winds are currently affecting the city. From Thursday night onwards, the minimum temperature is expected to remain between 10 to 11 degrees Celsius.

Meteorological spokesperson Anjum Nazir stated that by Saturday and Sunday, the cold is likely to intensify further. During these days, nighttime temperatures could fall to as low as 9 degrees Celsius.

The department also noted that no rainfall is expected in Karachi or across Sindh over the next 10 days.

Looking ahead, a western weather system may influence upper regions on January 18 or 19. Whether this system will bring rainfall to Sindh will be determined in subsequent forecasts.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold, especially at night, as the city experiences unusually low temperatures for this season.
