According to Indian media reports, the actress recently submitted a formal complaint to the police in Bengaluru, stating that she was receiving rape and death threats from 43 different social media accounts.

Reports suggest that Ramya had commented on the case of popular actor Darshan, who was arrested in connection with the murder of a fan. Following her remarks, fans of actor Darshan began targeting her with criticism and abuse.

After the complaint was filed, the cybercrime wing of the police registered a case and tracked several social media accounts involved in sending her abusive messages, threats of rape, and murder.

Police have arrested two suspects who, during interrogation, confessed to their crimes.

Authorities also stated that an additional 11 accounts involved in threatening the actress have been identified, bringing the total number to over 48.

It is worth noting that Ramya is a well-known actress in the Kannada film industry and has starred in several blockbuster movies. She had taken a long break from the film industry but made her return to acting in 2023.
