Farmers staged a strong protest at Shahwah Bus Stop against the severe water shortage in the Jarki canal.

The protestors blocked the main Hyderabad-Badin road by staging a sit-in, which led to the suspension of traffic in both directions, causing serious inconvenience to travelers.

Speaking to journalists, farmers including Ali Chang, Nawaz Chang, Ali Asghar, Zahid Hussain, and others said that water has not been reaching the Jarki canal for several weeks. As a result, crops and paddy seedlings have dried up, inflicting significant financial losses on them.

The protesting farmers demanded that authorities immediately ensure the restoration of water supply in the Jarki canal.

They warned that if their demands are not met, the protest will be expanded.
