Netanyahu Congratulates Trump After Signing of Hamas Deal

Jerusalem/Washington — Following the signing of the hostage release and ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a telephone conversation with U.S. President Donald Trump, during which the two leaders congratulated each other on what they described as a “historic breakthrough.”

According to official statements from both governments, Prime Minister Netanyahu praised the agreement as a diplomatic triumph and an expression of Israel’s moral and national strength, crediting President Trump’s mediation for helping both sides reach consensus after months of intense negotiations.

“This is not just a diplomatic achievement—it is also a moral and national victory for the State of Israel,” Netanyahu reportedly told Trump, expressing gratitude for Washington’s “unwavering support and leadership in securing peace and stability.”

In response, President Trump commended the Israeli premier’s “firm leadership” and reiterated the United States’ commitment to ensuring the successful implementation of the Gaza peace agreement, which includes the exchange of hostages and prisoners, permanent ceasefire, and humanitarian reconstruction of Gaza.

Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination during the initial phase of the agreement, particularly as hostage releases and humanitarian aid deliveries begin under international monitoring.
