Our Army Will Defend the Holy Mosques Alongside Saudi Arabia, Says Allama Tahir Ashrafi

Lahore (22 September 2025)Chairman of Pakistan Ulema Council, Allama Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, stated that the recent agreement with Saudi Arabia will serve as a guarantor of peace worldwide, emphasizing that Pakistan’s army will jointly defend the Haramain Sharifain with Saudi forces.

Speaking at a ceremony in Lahore, Allama Ashrafi said that this honor is bestowed by Allah only upon Pakistan. He added that the agreement clearly states that any attack on Pakistan will be considered an attack on Saudi Arabia.

Addressing critics, he remarked that those uncomfortable with the agreement cannot bear to see the nation united. He also recalled that no one anticipated the bombing in Qatar and criticized the global silence when India attacked Pakistan, noting that India and Israel jointly targeted Pakistan.

Allama Ashrafi further praised Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s role in representing the Muslim world at the Palestine conference, stating that since the Palestinian delegation cannot travel to the United States, the Prime Minister effectively serves as their representative.

He also highlighted Pakistan’s stance toward Afghanistan, calling it a brotherly nation while stressing that complaints are justified if Pakistani blood is shed using Afghan territory.

The remarks underscore Pakistan’s commitment to regional security, solidarity with Muslim nations, and readiness to defend strategic religious sites.
