Lahore – The Punjab Assembly has approved a significant resolution calling for a ban on a political party allegedly acting as an instrument of a hostile foreign nation. The resolution also demands legal action against its leaders for making statements deemed harmful to Pakistan’s stability. This move marks a new chapter in the ongoing political tensions within the country, reflecting increased scrutiny of groups accused of spreading disinformation or instability.

The resolution was presented during the Punjab Assembly session by Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) lawmaker Tahir Pervaiz. While presenting the resolution, he said that no leniency should be shown toward individuals or parties involved in activities that undermine national integrity or promote narratives hostile to the state.

According to the motion, any party or group accused of acting on behalf of a foreign adversary must face bans under relevant legal frameworks. The resolution stressed that Pakistan’s political landscape cannot afford to accommodate elements attempting to weaken national unity. Lawmakers insisted that such groups should be barred from participating in political processes until they are cleared of allegations or held accountable under law.
