Rohri Reporter: The Ameer of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) Sindh, Maulana Abdul Qayyum Halyijvi, and Secretary General Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro have stated that the current education system has completely ruined the nation. They said that those in power today are concerned only with money; they neither care about faith nor about the future builders of the nation. Those who are destroying Sindh, usurping public rights, selling jobs for money, and striking deals over Karoonjhar and rivers are all highly educated rulers who graduated from major institutions and yet have devastated the country and the province.

They said that if one examines schools, colleges, and universities today, the future generation is sinking deeper into the swamp of drugs. Underage children are becoming addicted to substances such as ice (crystal meth), cocaine, alcohol, hashish, and cigarettes. The real responsibility for this destruction, they added, lies with those rulers who studied at universities and then came into power. They expressed these views while addressing an educational conference held yesterday in Pano Aqil.

The conference was attended by Maulana Saud Afzal Halyijvi, Maulana Muhammad Saleh Indhar, Hafiz Abdul Hameed Mahar, Mir Mubeen Khan Balo, Maulana Ghulamullah Halyijvi, Maulana Ubaidullah Halyijvi, as well as a large number of scholars, office-bearers, and workers including Maulana Abdullah Mahar and Maulana Muhammad Tayyab Mekho from Shikarpur, Maulana Hafiz Siraj Ahmed Channa and Maulana Abdul Ghaffar Bhutto from Ghotki, Maulana Saleemullah from Jacobabad, Maulana Mir Muhammad Mirak from Khairpur, and the Secretary General from Kashmore.

While addressing the conference, Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro further said that a class-based and discriminatory education system has been deliberately created. There are separate educational institutions for the children of the poor and separate ones for the children of the rich, while the children of MNAs and MPAs are receiving education in London and Britain. He said that their forefathers and great historians were educated in madrasas where, along with the Qur’an and Hadith, subjects like science, medicine, and engineering were also taught. When the British occupied this region, the scholars of Deoband resisted them and ultimately drove them out, but before leaving, the British imposed a class-based education system.

He made it clear that Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam strongly opposes the class-based education system, and when their government comes to power, the same school where the Chief Minister’s son studies will also be the school where the son of a laborer in Sindh will study.

Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro announced that JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will arrive in Karachi on December 21 for a visit to Sindh, where he will address a large public gathering in Lyari and launch a new movement from there. After that, he will also address major rallies on December 23 in Larkana and on December 24 in Sukkur.

He said that despite Pakistan being created in the name of “La ilaha illallah,” Islam has still not been fully implemented in the country. Never has an Islamic scholar been appointed to key positions such as Prime Minister; instead, people educated in Western institutions have been brought into power, making a mockery of the public. Through electoral rigging, incompetent, unqualified, corrupt, and fake-mandate rulers are imposed on the people. He warned that these rulers have now lost their place in the hearts of the public.

He further said that the participation of hundreds of thousands of people in JUI’s public gatherings across villages of Sindh is proof that today the real popular party of Sindh is Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. He stated that even today more than seven million children in Sindh are deprived of education, and people do not have access to affordable and quality healthcare in hospitals.

Allama Rashid Mahmood Soomro said that corruption in Sindh is no longer even considered a crime; rather, the rulers consider it their right. Rejecting talks of dividing Sindh, he said that Karachi is part of Sindh and will remain so, and no one has the power to separate Karachi from Sindh. “As long as we are alive, we will protect Sindh,” he declared.

He said that instead of decreasing, lawlessness in Sindh is increasing, and innocent lives are being lost daily in tribal conflicts. He appealed to the public to make peace, end tribal feuds, and come forward for peace, stating that those sitting in government are the real culprits behind these conflicts. Addressing dacoits, he said, “Fear Allah, lay down your weapons, and show mercy to the people.” He added that as a result of JUI’s peace marches and peace jirgas, the government was forced to negotiate with dacoits.

He further said that un-Islamic and un-Sharia laws are now being passed in assemblies, including restrictions on underage marriage and opening the way for adultery by consent, while promoting immoral acts through the transgender bill—actions he termed open rebellion against the commands of Allah and His Messenger.

In conclusion, he warned that if the people are not given their rights through the Constitution, law, vote, and democracy, and if public mandate continues to be robbed by bringing people into assemblies through backdoor methods, then Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam will be forced to prepare for a public revolution.
