ATC extends Senator Mushtaq Ahmad’s physical remand
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Islamabad on Thursday extended physical remand of Senator Mushtaq Ahmad by four days in connection with a case registered over a Kashmir protest.
Senator Mushtaq Ahmad and co-accused Daniyal were produced before the court after completing their initial three-day physical remand.
The hearing was conducted by Duty Judge Abdul Ghafoor, who granted the remand after hearing arguments from the prosecution.
During the hearing, the prosecution argued that further investigation was necessary, stating that police had yet to recover a vehicle and weapons allegedly linked to the case.
Prosecutors requested a 30-day physical remand, maintaining that additional time was needed to complete the recovery process and collect further evidence.
After considering the prosecution’s request, the court granted a four-day extension of the physical remand instead of the full period sought.
The case was registered at Shalimar Police Station in Islamabad in connection with the Kashmir protest.
