Alleged Drone Attack Plot on White House Independence Event Foiled, Reports Say
Washington: U.S. security agencies have reportedly foiled a suspected plot involving explosive-laden drones targeting a 250th Independence Day celebration event at the White House.
According to American media reports, the plot was disrupted through a joint operation by the FBI and other law enforcement agencies. Authorities have detained five suspects in connection with the alleged conspiracy.
The reports further claim that investigations are ongoing against approximately 23 additional individuals believed to be linked to the plan.
Officials say the alleged plot was uncovered on June 10, after which arrests of suspected organizers began.
Citing sources, U.S. media reported that the plan involved the use of drone-borne explosives, which were allegedly intended to strike buildings within the event area.
Security agencies have not yet released detailed official statements, and investigations into the broader network behind the alleged plot are still continuing.
