Sindh Government Spokesperson Syeda Tehseen Abidi Meets PPP Sindh General Secretary Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi
KARACHI: Sindh Government Spokesperson and Focal Person to Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Syeda Tehseen Abidi, met with Senator Syed Waqar Mehdi, General Secretary of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh, to discuss public service, governance, and organizational affairs.
During the meeting, Senator Waqar Mehdi commended Syeda Tehseen Abidi for her performance as the government’s focal person during Muharram-ul-Haram, praising her dedication to ensuring smooth arrangements and facilitating mourners throughout the province.
According to a statement issued after the meeting, the senator appreciated her continuous monitoring of Muharram arrangements across different districts, effective coordination with government departments, and commitment to addressing issues faced by citizens and participants in religious processions and gatherings.
Senator Waqar Mehdi said that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always believed in serving the people and maintaining close contact with the public during both routine governance and special occasions. He remarked that Syeda Tehseen Abidi’s active role during Muharram-ul-Haram reflected the party’s longstanding tradition of public service and administrative responsiveness.
He noted that her efforts, including regular communication with district administrations, coordination with local government institutions, and oversight of civic arrangements, contributed to ensuring that public services remained available during the religious observance.
The PPP Sindh General Secretary further said that the dedication shown during Muharram demonstrated the importance of teamwork among various government departments. He added that timely coordination between administrative authorities and service-delivery institutions played an important role in facilitating mourners and maintaining public confidence.
Expressing confidence in her future performance, Senator Waqar Mehdi said he expected Syeda Tehseen Abidi to continue serving the people with the same commitment, sincerity, and sense of responsibility. He emphasized that public representatives and government officials should remain accessible to citizens and work collectively to resolve their concerns efficiently.
Speaking on the occasion, Syeda Tehseen Abidi thanked the party leadership for its confidence and support. She said that every responsibility assigned to her during Muharram-ul-Haram was carried out in accordance with the public service vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the directives of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, and the guidance of Sindh Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah.
She stated that ensuring the welfare of citizens and providing maximum facilitation to mourners remained among the Sindh Government’s foremost priorities throughout Muharram. According to her, various departments worked in close coordination to address civic issues, monitor public services, and respond promptly to complaints wherever required.
Syeda Tehseen Abidi said that the Sindh Government believes public service should continue without interruption and that effective coordination among government institutions is essential for delivering timely relief to the people. She added that efforts would continue to strengthen communication between departments and improve service delivery across the province.
She also highlighted the importance of maintaining close engagement with local administrations to ensure that public issues are addressed efficiently. According to her, coordination among district authorities, municipal institutions, and other relevant departments contributes significantly to improving governance and ensuring better outcomes for citizens.
