Kot Ghulam Muhammad — In a strong show of unity, teachers, students, and government employees staged a protest rally in Kot Ghulam Muhammad on the call of the Sindh Employees Alliance. The demonstration began from the main Ibn al-Haytham High School, where offices were locked in protest, and participants wore black armbands as a sign of resistance.

The rally was led by GSTA Unit President Wazir Ahmed Khaskheli, SPSSA leader Aslam Qaimkhani, and GSTA General Secretary Muhammad Zubair Arain, along with other representatives. Large numbers of teachers and students joined the procession, filling the streets with chants and slogans demanding justice and fair treatment from the authorities.

The protest leaders, addressing the participants, highlighted that teachers and government employees of Sindh had been deprived of their legitimate rights for many years. They stressed that:

• Increase in salaries, improvement in the service structure, and the abolition of contractual policies were urgent needs of the time.

• Employees must be regularized, and newly recruited teachers should also be given the same rights and benefits as senior staff.

Wazir Ahmed Khaskheli warned that if their demands were ignored, the movement would escalate into larger demonstrations, expanding from the district level to the provincial stage.

Aslam Qaimkhani added that the government must realize that the improvement of the education sector is directly tied to the well-being of teachers. “Depriving teachers of their rights,” he said, “is the same as weakening education itself.”

Muhammad Zubair Arain declared that the demands were entirely legitimate, rooted in the Constitution and the law, and that silence was no longer an option.
