PM Vows Bi-Monthly Performance Review of Ministries, Warns of Action Against Poor Performers

Islamabad (Wednesday, July 16, 2025) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the performance of each federal ministry will be reviewed every two months, and strict action will be taken against those that fail to deliver satisfactory results.

While addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet, the Prime Minister stated that institutions delivering good results would be appreciated, and efforts would be made to eliminate deficiencies wherever found.

He remarked, “Those who meet performance standards are the crown jewels of our team. The NDMA has become a strong and effective institution. We held a meeting with NDMA officials regarding the recent rains. The Swat incident was a tragic accident, and we must learn from it to take effective measures in the future.”

The Prime Minister added that the historic rise of the stock exchange reflects improvements in the national economy. “We are making collective efforts to strengthen the economy,” he said.

In his address, Shehbaz Sharif also congratulated the nation, chief ministers of all four provinces, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on the peaceful conduct of Muharram processions and gatherings.

He emphasized that the cabinet has now been in office for one and a half years, and from now onward, each ministry will be evaluated every two months. “Those with good results will be commended, and shortcomings will be addressed. I will not hesitate to take strict action where necessary.”

The Prime Minister concluded by saying, “In simple words, no one will be allowed to create false impressions. Only performance and public service will be our top priorities. Those who meet the standards will be valued, and those who don’t will be made aware of their shortcomings.”
