Widespread rain and hailstorms have impacted several regions of Pakistan, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), bringing a noticeable change in weather conditions. While the rainfall has provided relief from rising temperatures, it has also caused disruptions, particularly in mountainous areas where landslides have blocked key roads.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rain was recorded in multiple districts such as Swat, Karak, Malakand, Abbottabad, and Mansehra. The showers brought cooler temperatures, making the weather more pleasant for residents. However, in higher altitude مناطق like Galyat and Naran Valley, snowfall was reported, further intensifying the cold conditions and creating a winter-like atmosphere.

One of the most significant incidents occurred in Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley, where a landslide blocked the main road at the Kel–Sheikh Bela point. As a result, more than 20 tourist vehicles were stranded. Local authorities acted promptly, providing temporary accommodation to affected travelers within nearby communities to ensure their safety.

Officials stated that efforts are underway to clear the الطريق and restore traffic flow. Landslides are a common occurrence in mountainous regions during periods of heavy rain or snow, often posing serious risks to both residents and visitors.

In Balochistan, rain was also reported in upper علاقوں of Ziarat Valley, as well as in Tooba Achakzai and Tooba Kakari. These areas are known for their cooler climate, and the rainfall has further lowered temperatures.

Meanwhile, the Karakoram Highway, a vital route connecting Pakistan with China, was temporarily closed near Lachi Nala in Kohistan due to a landslide. Authorities have initiated clearance operations to reopen the highway as soon as possible, as it is an اہم corridor for trade and travel.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has forecast that the current weather system will continue to affect the upper parts of the country. More rain and possible hailstorms are expected in the coming days, particularly in northern and hilly regions. Residents and travelers have been advised to remain cautious and stay updated with official weather alerts.

Although the rain has improved weather conditions and reduced heat, it has also exposed the vulnerability of infrastructure in certain regions. Road closures and landslides can disrupt daily life and pose challenges for emergency response.
