According to reports, on the 1st of Muharram—the martyrdom day of the Commander of the Faithful, the son-in-law of Bibi Fatima and Sayyiduna Ali Al-Murtaza (RA), and Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (RA), known for justice and fairness—the Sunni Rabita Council organized a rally and procession praising the Companions (RA).

The rally was led by Council President Bashir Ahmed Lund, Abdul Jabbar Lund, and other leaders of the Sunni Rabita Council Unit Peerano Lund. It began from Goth Haji Peerano Lund and proceeded to Mirpur Bathoro. The rally culminated in a public gathering at the main bus stop of Mirpur Bathoro.

On the occasion, speakers including Mukhtiar Ahmed Mastoi, Maulana Hidayatullah Soomro, Qari Dildar Ahmed Mastoi, Hafiz Yaseen Lund, Hafiz Naseer Ahmed Lund, Hafiz Anzar Ali Lund, Muawiyah Iqbal Lund, and others addressed the participants.

They said the 1st of Muharram is the martyrdom day of that blessed personality whose sense of justice made even Satan tremble, whose awe weakened the strongholds of falsehood. Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (RA) was not only a general of Islam but also an exemplary ruler. His era was marked by justice, fairness, peace, and prosperity.

The speakers demanded that the Government of Pakistan and all provincial governments officially commemorate the martyrdom day of Umar Farooq (RA) and the passing/martyrdom days of all the Rightly Guided Caliphs (RA). They further called for these dates to be declared as official public holidays.

Among the special guests at the rally were: Sujawal leader Hafiz Riaz Memon, Rais Ali Ahmed Lund, former Chairman Ali Akbar Shah, and a large number of Sunni citizens participated.
