Bollywood Criticism: Mawra Hocane Shuts Out The Noise
LAHORE: 10.04.2025: Famous actress Mawra Hocane, in her recent interview, addressed the challenges Pakistani actors face when working in Bollywood.
Reflecting on her own experience in the 2016 hit Sanam Teri Kasam, Mawra said, “I block the noise around my work. I love what I do and don’t take it personally.”
She emphasized that casting decisions and any resulting backlash are the producer’s concern, not the actor’s. “If I spend time thinking about what will happen, I’ll always be uneasy,” she added, expressing faith that whatever is meant to happen will.
Her comments come amid controversy surrounding Fawad Khan’s upcoming Bollywood film Abir Gulaal, which is facing opposition in Maharashtra due to the actor’s Pakistani nationality.
