Hyderabad, October 18
The Sindh Graduates Association (SGA) organized a grand World Teachers’ Day Award Distribution Ceremony today at the Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium, Sindh Museum, Hyderabad, to pay tribute to teachers who have played a pivotal role in educating and shaping the new generation. The event was graced by Commissioner Hyderabad Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi as the chief guest, along with prominent educationists, students, and social activists.

The purpose of the ceremony was to acknowledge and appreciate the services of teachers who contribute significantly to building a progressive and educated society. Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Fayyaz Hussain Abbasi said that teachers are the true architects of a nation. “A teacher not only imparts knowledge but also shapes the character, personality, and future of students,” he remarked.

He emphasized that a teacher is a leader and role model whose actions inspire students to follow the path of discipline, confidence, and morality. “A good teacher instills confidence, discipline, and ethical values in their students. A student reflects both the upbringing of parents and the guidance of teachers; therefore, the responsibility of teachers is immense,” he stated.

Commissioner Abbasi further advised teachers to publicly praise students’ good performance while providing private guidance when correction is needed, calling this the hallmark of a truly successful teacher. “Encouragement and trust are the keys to a student’s educational success,” he said, adding that teachers must always serve as mentors and counselors for their pupils.

Highlighting the indispensable role of educators, he said, “Teachers are lamps that illuminate the lives of others through their wisdom and dedication. The future of any nation lies in their hands, and it is our moral duty to respect and honor them.”

Commissioner Abbasi also paid rich tribute to the Sindh Graduates Association for its outstanding contributions to education, social welfare, and humanitarian service, saying that the association has always worked tirelessly for the betterment of society. He described such organizations as “agents of positive change and development” within the community.

The event concluded with award and shield presentations by the Commissioner to outstanding teachers and high-achieving students. Their contributions to education, dedication to their profession, and commitment to excellence were warmly appreciated by all participants.
