“Citizens must ensure building approvals are in place before purchasing flats,” says Sindh Chief Minister
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has instructed the public to verify that a building has all necessary approvals before purchasing a flat.
Murad Ali Shah also confirmed that a committee has been formed to investigate the Lyari building collapse, and the reports will be reviewed in tomorrow’s meeting.
He further added that the building evacuated last night in Agra Taj was constructed a few years ago without the approval of the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA). The government is assessing alternate housing options for residents of more than 400 dangerous buildings in the old city area.
Reiterating his advice, he urged citizens to ensure a building has obtained all required approvals before making any flat purchase.
