Independence Day Preparations: Sanitation Operations Intensified Across Larkana

Larkana: On the special directives of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) and officials of the Chinese Gansu Company, sanitation workers have intensified cleanliness operations across various areas of the city ahead of Pakistan’s Independence Day celebrations on August 14.

Special cleaning activities were carried out in Lahore Mohalla, Sheikh Zaid Colony, VIP Road, Old Bus Stand, Ghalib Nagar, Gajjanpur, Kausarmal, Haidri Para, Bhains Colony, Rehmatpur, Nazar Mohalla, Latif Colony, Khaliq Colony, Allahabad, Bakrani Road, Karman Bagh, Fish Market, Murad Wahan, Ali Goharabad, Sachal Colony, Bandar Road, Pakistan Chowk, Jails Bazaar, Empire Road and Yar Muhammad Colony, along with several other small and large neighborhoods.

Sanitation staff swept roads, streets and lanes and carried out extensive cleaning operations. They also created decorative designs with lime on roads and public spaces as part of preparations for Independence Day celebrations.

In addition, garbage was collected directly from residents’ doorsteps and transported to designated dumping stations.

Officials of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and the Chinese Gansu Company said that August 14 is celebrated as Pakistan’s Independence Day. Keeping the national occasion in view, sanitation activities had been accelerated across the city to ensure that patriotic citizens face no inconvenience during various Independence Day programmes, rallies and other celebrations.

The authorities said special attention was being given to cleanliness and sanitation so that the city could present a clean and attractive appearance during the national celebrations.
