HYDERABAD (Mahboob Hussain Buzdar, Bureau Chief): The administration of Sindh Government Shah Bhittai Hospital, Latifabad, has expressed concern over what it described as allegedly misleading and factually incorrect reports and propaganda circulating on social media for some time, saying such content could damage the reputation of the hospital, its administration and employees.

Various reports and allegations regarding some major government hospitals in Hyderabad have recently circulated on social media. In this context, some social activists visited Shah Bhittai Hospital and reviewed different departments and administrative matters.

According to information provided by the hospital administration, a recently circulated social media list allegedly identifying “ghost employees” also contains the names of some employees who retired nearly three years ago, while some others have already been transferred. The administration further stated that the name of one deceased employee was also included in the list.

The hospital administration said that circulating incomplete or unverified information through social and mainstream media without proper verification not only creates a misleading impression among the public but also damages the reputation of officers and employees serving at the hospital.

The situation observed during the visit of the social activists also highlighted the need to verify any allegation or list against relevant official records and with the hospital administration before treating it as established fact.

The hospital administration appealed to media organizations and social media users to fully verify any public-interest information before publishing or sharing it. It said that unverified reports and allegations can damage the reputation of institutions and unfairly target employees who are performing their duties honestly.

The administration maintained that accountability and transparency are essential, but any action against an institution or employee should be based only on verified records, facts and due legal procedure.
