Islamabad: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has issued party tickets for 37 out of 45 constituencies for the upcoming Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) elections, while consultations for the remaining eight seats have entered their final stage, according to party sources.

Sources said that the party leadership is moving swiftly to finalize its electoral strategy and candidate selection process ahead of the polls. The remaining eight party tickets are expected to be announced within the next two days.

According to insiders, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have assigned key election-related responsibilities to senior party leaders Rana Sanaullah and Amir Muqam, who are actively engaged in consultations with influential political figures and prospective candidates.

Party sources revealed that meetings with important contenders are ongoing in an effort to finalize nominations and strengthen the party’s position across the region.

In a significant political development, it has reportedly been agreed that Chaudhry Muhammad Azhar Sadiq will join the PML-N and contest the election under the party’s banner.

Similarly, Yasin Gulshan is likely to be nominated as the PML-N candidate from Abbaspur, while former government minister Chaudhry Shehzad has reportedly decided to join the party and contest from the Lachhrat constituency.

Sources further indicated that Malik Nawaz is expected to receive the party ticket from Raj Mahal Kotli, while Sardar Javed Sharif is likely to be nominated from Rawalakot constituency LA-22.

The names of the prospective candidates have reportedly been forwarded to Nawaz Sharif for final approval before the official announcements are made.

Party leaders are also focusing on maintaining internal unity and discipline during the ticket distribution process. According to sources, the leadership has decided to remain in contact with party members who may not receive tickets in order to prevent dissatisfaction and ensure organizational cohesion during the election campaign.

Political analysts believe that candidate selection will play a crucial role in determining the outcome of the upcoming elections, as major political parties intensify efforts to secure support across key constituencies in Azad Kashmir.

The PML-N is expected to formally unveil its complete list of candidates once consultations for the remaining constituencies are finalized and approved by the party leadership.

With election preparations gaining momentum, political activity across Azad Kashmir is increasing, and major parties are expected to launch full-scale campaigns in the coming weeks.
