Tando Allahyar, August 15, 2025 (20th Safar 1447 Hijri): In connection with the Chehlum of the martyrs of Karbala, mourning processions were held across Tando Jam and surrounding areas with religious devotion and solemnity.

The central mourning procession of Zuljinah was taken out from the Imambargah of Syed Mehboob Ali Shah, led by Syed Bachal Shah and Syed Baig Shah, who supervised the main convoy. At the same time, another central Zuljinah and Alam Pak procession was taken out from the Imambargah of Syed Mehboob Hussain Shah Rizvi.

During the procession, Syed Muhammad Hussain Shah, Mir Sultan Ali Khan, and Mir Abdullah carried out the responsibilities of leading and organizing the groups. At Khadd Chowk and Pakistani Chowk, renowned elegy reciters including Mir Imdad Ali alias Peeral Talpur and others recited nohas, evoking grief among the mourners. Devotees performed Zanjeer Zani (chest beating with chains) as a mark of mourning.

Under the supervision of Zawar Lal Muhammad, further Zuljinah processions were organized, while another significant Zuljinah and mourning rally was brought out from the Imambargah of Syed Faqir Ali Shah Jahanian.

This year’s Chehlum procession witnessed the participation of five Zuljinah processions collectively. Special Majalis-e-Aza were also held at Faqir Ali Shah Jahanian’s Imambargah and Sakhi Shah Inayat, where respected religious scholars delivered sermons highlighting the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AS) and the martyrs of Karbala and Shaam.

Tears and lamentations marked the remembrance of Karbala’s tragedy. On the sidelines of the processions, Nazr-o-Niaz, sabeels (free water stalls), and food distribution arrangements were made for the mourners.
