Punjab: 39 Deaths Reported So Far Due to Monsoon Rains – PDMA Report Released
Lahore: The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Punjab has released a report detailing the damages caused by the ongoing monsoon rains.
According to the PDMA, 39 people have lost their lives and 103 others have been injured so far this monsoon season.
The breakdown of the fatalities includes 24 deaths due to the collapse of dilapidated buildings, 3 deaths caused by lightning strikes, 4 due to electric shocks, and 8 people who drowned.
The PDMA report also states that water flow in most rivers across Punjab remains at normal levels. However, a moderate flood is present at Chashma, while low-level floods have been reported at Kalabagh and Taunsa.
The monsoon rainfall is expected to continue across the region until July 17, the PDMA added.Tools
