Karachi Weather Update: Pleasant Conditions with Chances of Drizzle

Karachi (21 September 2025) — The weather in Karachi is expected to remain pleasant and partly cloudy, with the possibility of light drizzle in some areas of the city, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

In its latest forecast, the PMD stated that the metropolis will experience humid and partly overcast conditions over the next 24 hours. Maximum temperatures are likely to hover between 31°C and 33°C, while the overall weather is expected to stay relatively comfortable compared to recent weeks of higher heat.

Meteorological officials added that light drizzle may occur in isolated parts of the city, particularly in the evening and night hours, bringing further relief to residents from the prevailing humidity.

As per the PMD, the humidity level in the air is currently 78%, which is contributing to a sticky and damp feel across Karachi. Meanwhile, sea breezes are blowing at a speed of around 7 kilometers per hour, ensuring some ventilation and preventing a rise in heat levels.

Weather experts explained that the cloud cover and occasional drizzle are linked to moist currents from the Arabian Sea, which are influencing the city’s climate. Although there is no forecast for heavy rainfall, the drizzle is expected to keep the weather moderate.

Local residents have welcomed the change, noting that even light showers and cloudy skies help ease the discomfort of high humidity. Shopkeepers, commuters, and office-goers across the city expressed hope that the pleasant spell would continue over the coming days.

Authorities, however, advised citizens to stay updated with official forecasts, as sudden weather changes are common in coastal regions. The PMD also clarified that while drizzle may occur intermittently, no urban flooding risk has been identified for Karachi at this stage.
