Karachi: Chairman New Karachi Town, Muhammad Yousuf, has said that the town’s development work is continuing without interruption, with the reconstruction of a key road in Sector 5-G’s Kali Market entering its final stage.

During a visit to inspect the ongoing construction work, the chairman was accompanied by Vice Chairman Shoaib Bin Zaheer, union council chairmen and vice chairmen, councillors, B&R In-charge Faisal Sagheer, other concerned officials, and local community representatives.

Inspecting the project, Muhammad Yousuf directed the relevant officials to ensure that no compromise is made on the quality, transparency, and durability of development work so that residents receive long-lasting and high-standard municipal facilities.

Speaking to local residents, the chairman said development projects across New Karachi Town are progressing in phases and without interruption, adding that every scheme is being closely monitored to ensure the transparent and efficient use of public funds.

“Our top priority is to provide better municipal services and resolve the basic issues faced by citizens on a priority basis,” he said.

Muhammad Yousuf added that public service remains the central objective of his administration.

“We consider politics a form of public service and responsibility. Serving the people and providing them with essential civic facilities is our mission,” he said, expressing his commitment to improving the quality of life for residents throughout New Karachi Town.

He further stated that the administration aims to make every neighborhood of New Karachi Town a model area in terms of development, cleanliness, improved road infrastructure, and the provision of basic public services.

The chairman noted that the road in Sector 5-G’s Kali Market had remained in poor condition for a long time, causing serious inconvenience to residents, traders, students, and daily commuters.

Responding to a longstanding demand from local residents, the town administration decided to undertake the reconstruction of the road, and work has been progressing at a rapid pace.

Muhammad Yousuf expressed confidence that the construction would be completed by Tuesday night, after which traffic flow in the area is expected to improve significantly.

He said the completed road would provide safer, smoother, and more convenient travel for motorists, pedestrians, students, and business owners using the busy market area.

Residents and elected local government representatives present during the visit welcomed the ongoing development work and appreciated the pace of construction.

They expressed hope that similar development projects across New Karachi Town would continue to be completed promptly, enabling more residents to benefit from improved infrastructure and municipal services.

The reconstruction of the Kali Market road is part of New Karachi Town’s broader efforts to upgrade civic infrastructure, improve transportation networks, and address long-standing public concerns through ongoing development initiatives.
