Islamabad (Saturday, June 21, 2025) – The Government of Pakistan has officially decided to nominate former U.S. President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize 2026. The decision has been made in recognition of Trump’s decisive diplomatic intervention and significant leadership during the recent Pakistan-India tensions.

According to an official statement issued by the government, the international community witnessed Indian aggression that posed a serious threat to Pakistan’s sovereignty and regional integrity. This aggression resulted in the loss of many innocent lives, including women, children, and the elderly. In response, Pakistan exercised its right to self-defense through Operation Bunyān Mursūs—a limited, precise, and targeted operation aimed solely at repelling aggression and preventing further escalation.

In such a delicate scenario, President Trump demonstrated effective diplomacy by engaging intensively with both Islamabad and New Delhi. His efforts successfully led to a ceasefire, averting a potential full-scale war that could have had catastrophic consequences not only for South Asia but for global stability.

The Government of Pakistan also praised President Trump’s offer to help resolve the Kashmir issue peacefully. The statement emphasized that the Kashmir dispute is central to regional instability in South Asia and that its resolution should be based on United Nations resolutions.

President Trump’s leadership during the 2025 Pakistan-India crisis has underscored his active role in promoting diplomacy and preventing conflict. Pakistan hopes that his efforts will not only support peace in South Asia but also contribute to stability in the Middle East—especially amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and rising tensions with Iran, which demand urgent diplomatic attention.
