Pakistani actor and director Shamoon Abbasi has broken his silence on the controversy involving veteran actor Mohammed Ahmed, claiming he knows the identity of the junior actor allegedly involved in the incident.

Taking to social media, Shamoon Abbasi strongly condemned the alleged incident, questioning how any junior actor could think they had the right to behave disrespectfully towards a senior artist.

He stressed that no one has the licence to treat experienced actors with such disrespect, regardless of their position in the industry.

Shamoon claimed he has now learned the identity of the individual allegedly involved in the incident. He also claimed that he had heard of several previous complaints involving the same individual. However, despite knowing who it was, Shamoon said he deliberately chose not to reveal the actor’s name.

Explaining his decision, Shamoon said he did not want to become the person responsible for publicly exposing the individual. Instead, he offered the junior actor an opportunity to take responsibility and apologise before the public discovered the truth on its own.

Addressing the unnamed actor directly, Shamoon warned that he already knows who they are and urged them to come forward before the situation worsens. He said failing to apologise could result in public criticism, online trolling, and even the risk of being cancelled by audiences, with viewers potentially refusing to support the actor’s future projects.

Shamoon added that he and several colleagues from the entertainment industry were giving the individual an opportunity to admit the mistake and apologise before the controversy escalated further. He maintained that a sincere public apology would be the best way to resolve the matter.

He also expressed his support for veteran actor Mohammed Ahmed, saying he finds it difficult to believe that such an experienced and respected artist would have behaved in a way that justified the alleged disrespect. According to Shamoon, senior actors deserve dignity and respect for their years of contribution to the entertainment industry.

Shamoon further explained that one of the reasons he had chosen not to reveal the actor’s identity was because doing so could seriously damage the person’s career and reduce their chances of finding future work in the industry.
