Son of Police Officer Arrested for Killing Rangers Personnel in Lyari
KARACHI: Police have arrested the suspect allegedly involved in the killing of a Pakistan Rangers personnel in Karachi’s Lyari area.
According to DIG South Asad Raza, the suspect, identified as Sahil, was arrested after fleeing to Balochistan following the incident.
The DIG said the accused is the son of a police officer. Preliminary investigations found that the motive behind the killing was personal enmity. He added that the suspect had carefully planned the attack and conducted surveillance (reconnaissance) before shooting the Rangers official.
The victim, Rangers personnel Abdul Qayyum, was shot dead in Lyari on 18 July. Police said the investigation into the case is continuing.
