“Latif Recognition Week” Celebrated in Badin to Honor Saint and Poet Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai

Badin, Sindh: The Education Department Badin celebrated “Latif Shinaasi Week” with great reverence and respect at the Youth Development Center Auditorium to pay tribute to Sindh’s eminent Sufi poet and saint, Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai (RA).

During the event, students from various schools across Badin participated enthusiastically in competitions including recitation of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s verses, poetry, calligraphy, drawing, quizzes, and speeches in Sindhi, Urdu, and English. Outstanding students were awarded shields and certificates to encourage their performance.

Addressing the gathering, District Education Officer (Secondary) Anwar Parabi, District Information Officer Sarfraz Samoon, Assistant Sports Officer Abdul Razaq Khaskheli, TAO Abdul Fatah Junejo, Focal Persons Muhammad Khan Samoon and Zainab Samoon, among others, highlighted the importance of celebrating the life and philosophy of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai. They said, “Today, we honor the great poet, thinker, humanist, and spiritual guide of Sindh, whose ideas and message are a source of pride and inspiration for all of us. Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai was not only a poet of Sindh but also a symbol of the province’s identity, culture, resistance, patience, tolerance, and humanity. His poetry teaches love, peace, harmony, sacrifice, and following the path of truth, lessons that remain guiding lights for us today.”

The speakers emphasized that the purpose of Latif Shinaasi Week is to introduce the younger generation to Shah Sain’s philosophy and message, so they can take pride in their history, language, culture, and national identity. They added, “Shah Sain’s poetry teaches us that humanity transcends caste, religion, color, and race, and that true greatness lies in love and service.”

In conclusion, they reaffirmed their commitment to not only study Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai’s thoughts from books but also apply his teachings in daily life to eliminate hatred, prejudice, and injustice from society, promoting peace, brotherhood, and welfare.

The event was attended in large numbers by teachers and students, including TAO Yunus Rahmoon, TAO Sher Muhammad, TAO Muhammad Yousuf, TAO Yaseen Ahmed Kanbhar, HST Syeda Makal Shah, and others.
