Lahore: (Tuesday, July 1, 2025) Tremors of an earthquake were felt in Lahore, the capital of Punjab, and in various other cities of the province. According to reports, the earthquake triggered fear and panic among the citizens, who rushed out of their homes reciting prayers.

The PDMA (Provincial Disaster Management Authority) received preliminary reports from all districts of Punjab, confirming that tremors were felt in Lahore and several other regions.

According to PDMA Punjab, the tremors were felt in Kasur, Okara, Sheikhupura, Muridke, and other districts of Punjab. The provincial administration is currently busy inspecting buildings.

The Director General of PDMA stated that machinery and personnel have been placed on alert to deal with possible aftershocks. The Provincial Control Room of PDMA and the District Emergency Operation Centers across Punjab are on 24/7 alert.

The PDMA spokesperson said that any damage caused by the earthquake can be reported on PDMA’s helpline 1129. According to the earthquake monitoring center, the epicenter of the quake was located 25 kilometers south of Lahore, with a depth of approximately 14.5 kilometers beneath the surface.
