Jamshoro: Corner Meeting Held in Connection with World Population Day
In Jamshoro, various activities such as corner meetings, baby shows, and health fairs are underway in connection with World Population Day.
As part of these events, the District Population Welfare Department of Jamshoro organized an awareness corner meeting at Al-Manzar, which saw a large number of participants from the village of Sain Dino Mallah as well as local visitors at Al-Manzar.
During the event, officials including Taluka Population Welfare Officer of Kotri, Jaro Khan Brahmani, Hafiz Ghulam Ali Buzdar, Roshan Brahmani, Abdul Majeed Samejo, Hakim Chandio, Sohrab Mallah, and others delivered speeches. They discussed the harmful effects of rapid population growth, scarcity of resources, lack of basic facilities, and shared information on family planning methods. Villagers were encouraged to take advantage of the free services offered by the Population Welfare Department.
The villagers were urged to maintain proper spacing between births to help control population growth, to educate their children—especially daughters—and to end the practice of early marriages for girls.
The speakers highlighted the social, economic, and health-related impacts of overpopulation, and raised awareness about family well-being, health, education, and responsible parenting.
On the occasion, pamphlets containing information on family planning were also distributed among the attendees by the Population Welfare Department.
