The spokesperson voiced deep concern over the ongoing extraordinary tensions and violence in the region, warning that if the situation continues to escalate, the consequences could be catastrophic and not limited to just this region.

The statement emphasized the importance of protecting civilian lives and property and called for an immediate ceasefire by all parties involved. The Foreign Office also urged all nations to adhere to international law, particularly international humanitarian law, and stressed that the only way to resolve the crisis in the region is through dialogue and diplomacy in accordance with the principles and objectives of the UN Charter.
