Former Pakistani film actress Nisho Begum, once a celebrated face of Lollywood, has recently stirred discussions on social media after a candid interview about her personal life went viral. The actress openly discussed her three marriages, the challenges she faced, and her views on remarriage at an older age.

Calling her first marriage a mistake, Nisho revealed that her marital journey had been filled with both love and loss. Yet, she firmly believes that marriage is not bound by age and expressed that she would not hesitate to marry again—even joking that if legendary Indian actress Rekha tied the knot, she would also consider her fourth marriage.

Marriage Beyond Age and Social Stigma

In her interview, Nisho Begum highlighted how societal attitudes in Pakistan often make remarriage, especially for women, unnecessarily controversial.

“In Saudi Arabia, women marry multiple times—10 times even. After divorce, they move on with life. But here, nikah is treated like a big problem. Many senior Pakistani actresses have married later in life, such as Bushra Ansari, Anjuman, and Samina Ahmed. So why should it be considered strange for me?”

She admitted that she continues to receive marriage proposals even today and sees no reason to reject the idea of remarrying.

“Marriage has nothing to do with age. I can marry at any time. Even now, people send me proposals. My son encourages me to marry again but warns me, ‘Ammi, don’t make a foolish decision this time.’”

Her Three Marriages and Personal Struggles

Nisho Begum then spoke openly about her three marriages, each of which had its own story of joy and heartbreak:

1. First Marriage – Imam Rabbani
   Her first marriage was to Imam Rabbani, with whom she had a daughter named Sahiba (herself a film actress). However, this marriage lasted only 11 months, which Nisho now looks back on as a youthful mistake.
2. Second Marriage – Tasleem Fazli
   Nisho’s second marriage was with well-known poet Tasleem Fazli, the younger brother of Indian poet Nida Fazli. This marriage, however, was tragically cut short when Tasleem Fazli passed away from a sudden heart attack at the young age of 32.
3. Third Marriage – Kazim Pasha
   Later, she married film producer Kazim Pasha. Their bond endured until his death, once again from heart complications. Nisho admitted that from her second and third marriages, she also had children.

A Life of Proposals and Possibilities

Despite enduring the grief of losing two husbands to heart-related illnesses, Nisho has not shut the doors to companionship. She shared that proposals still arrive regularly, and she has the support of her children in making future decisions.

Her lighthearted remark comparing her future marriage to Rekha’s potential marriage quickly became the highlight of her interview.

“If Rekha marries, I will too. My children have no objections. For them, my happiness matters more than society’s opinions.”
