Trump Imposes 35% Import Tax on Canada
Products coming from Canada to the U.S. will be taxed at 35% starting August 1, 2025
Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump has imposed a 35% import tax on Canada.
Following President Trump’s decision, all Canadian products entering the United States from August 1, 2025, will be subject to this 35% tax.
Regarding the decision, President Trump stated, “We are simply saying that all other countries will also have to pay a tax, whether it is 20% or 15%.”
It is worth noting that earlier this week, President Trump sent letters to more than 20 countries, warning that if no trade agreement is reached by August 1, tariffs will be imposed on their products according to specified rates.
