No Consideration Underway to Bring No-Confidence Motion Against PTI’s Provincial Government: Rana Sanaullah

Islamabad (Thursday, July 3, 2025):
Advisor to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, has said that there has been no discussion with Maulana Fazlur Rehman regarding toppling the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, and the matter of bringing a no-confidence motion against the PTI’s provincial government is not under consideration.

Speaking in a private TV channel program, Rana Sanaullah said that the government has repeatedly offered talks to PTI, but PTI has consistently refused to engage in dialogue.

He stated that PTI came to power in 2018 with the help of the establishment at the time, and now it wants the establishment to again carry it into power on its shoulders — but that dream of PTI will never come true.

Rana Sanaullah added that PTI has reached this point because of its own decisions and political approach. He said that had PTI not dissolved its provincial assemblies, perhaps May 8 would not have occurred. The Prime Minister told PTI that even if you don’t want to come to me, we can talk in the Speaker’s chamber — I’ll go there. But PTI wants to drive democracy with deadlock, not dialogue.

Furthermore, he clarified that no talks were held with Maulana Fazlur Rehman about overthrowing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. He acknowledged that Gandapur has managed the PTI government and the trust of PTI’s founder quite well.

Rana Sanaullah made it clear that the matter of bringing a no-confidence motion against PTI’s provincial government is not being considered. He added that if PTI protests peacefully and does not take the law into its own hands, then such protest is their democratic right.

It should be noted that on Wednesday, Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, had said:
“Try as hard as you want — the government cannot be toppled through constitutional means. I challenge all institutions and the state: if you succeed in overthrowing this government, I will quit politics.”
