MUZAFFARABAD: Security forces have arrested five suspected individuals during an intelligence-based operation in the Chehla area of Muzaffarabad, according to security sources.

The operation was reportedly conducted following intelligence inputs regarding suspected activities in the area. Authorities stated that the suspects were taken into custody for further investigation.

Communication Equipment and Digital Devices Seized

According to security sources, a number of items were recovered from the arrested individuals, including:

• Laptop computers
• Mobile phones
• Other communication and electronic devices

Preliminary examinations of the digital equipment reportedly revealed what officials described as suspicious contacts and sensitive material. Investigators are currently conducting a detailed forensic analysis of the recovered devices to determine the nature and extent of the alleged activities.

Large Cache of Weapons Recovered

Security sources further stated that during the investigation, one of the suspects allegedly identified a location where a substantial quantity of weapons had been concealed.

Acting on this information, authorities carried out a follow-up search operation and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition.

The recovered items reportedly included:

• Seven automatic weapons
• Multiple hand grenades
• Other military-related equipment

The seized weapons and materials have been taken into custody for examination and evidence collection.

Maps and Sensitive Documents Also Found

According to officials, investigators also recovered documents, records, and maps allegedly related to sensitive installations and important locations.

Authorities are examining the material to determine its relevance to the ongoing investigation and whether it was intended for any unlawful purpose.
