91 Arrested in Mirpur Division Over Alleged Links to Banned Action Committee

Authorities in Pakistan-administered Azad Jammu and Kashmir have arrested 91 individuals from the Mirpur Division over alleged links to a banned action committee.

According to the Deputy Inspector General (DIG), the operation was conducted to maintain law and order in the region. During the crackdown, a large quantity of weapons, sticks, and other materials was recovered.

The DIG stated that indiscriminate action will continue against those involved in violating the law or disturbing public peace.

Separately, officials recalled that on June 7, violent incidents occurred in Rawalakot, where police personnel were attacked. According to police, videos showed miscreants firing directly at law enforcement officials and mistreating the body of a martyred police officer.

Authorities have reiterated that strict legal action will be taken against anyone involved in such acts of violence.
