London – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared that Pakistan has entered a new era of progress, with signs of stability in the economy and notable advancements in foreign policy and defense. Speaking to overseas Pakistanis in London, the premier emphasized that the time for growth has arrived and credited teamwork and collective national effort as the driving forces behind the country’s resilience.

From Instability to Stability

Recalling the economic challenges of recent years, the prime minister noted that just two to three years ago, Pakistan’s economy was “rocked by turbulence.” However, with strict reforms, fiscal discipline, and external support, the economy is gradually stabilizing.

“Today, Pakistan is moving forward in diplomacy, economics, and defense. The time for progress has arrived,” he remarked. He described the current phase as a transition from crisis management to growth and opportunity, urging overseas Pakistanis to remain active contributors to national development.

Teamwork as the Key to Success

Drawing a parallel with cricket, PM Shehbaz stressed that national progress is not the result of individual leadership alone. “Just like in cricket, a captain cannot win without the hard work of ten players. Success only comes from teamwork,” he explained, calling on Pakistanis at home and abroad to unite in the spirit of collective nation-building.

Diplomatic Engagements: Kashmir and Gaza

Highlighting Pakistan’s foreign policy initiatives, the prime minister said he had “fought the case of Kashmir” at the United Nations and ensured Pakistan’s voice was heard. He also reiterated Pakistan’s solidarity with Palestinians, noting that more than 64,000 people have lost their lives in Gaza during the ongoing conflict.

He called for global peace efforts: “I pray for peace in Gaza and for an end to war. The struggles of Kashmir and Gaza have been presented before the world in the best possible way.”

The prime minister positioned Pakistan as a strong advocate for Muslim causes in global forums, underlining the country’s leadership role in shaping the international conversation on justice and peace.

Defense and National Security

Shehbaz Sharif also reflected on recent challenges faced by the nation, asserting that Pakistan had achieved a decisive victory against its adversaries. “We have won the war, we defeated the enemy resoundingly,” he said, signaling both military resilience and national unity in the face of threats.

This narrative, combined with the recent Pakistan–Saudi defense pact signed in Riyadh, suggests that Pakistan is enhancing its defense posture through both strategic alliances and its own capabilities.

Improving Relations With the United States

Another key point in the prime minister’s address was the improvement in Pakistan–U.S. relations. Shehbaz described his meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump as “positive,” expressing optimism that bilateral ties would continue to strengthen.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also weighed in, noting that a significant meeting had taken place between Muslim leaders and President Trump over the Gaza issue. “We expect the outcome of this meeting to be positive,” Dar remarked, praising Pakistan’s performance on all UN platforms where its case had been “presented in the best manner.”
