Cristiano Ronaldo Becomes the World’s First Footballer Billionaire

Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has achieved another historic milestone, becoming the world’s first-ever billionaire footballer.

According to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Ronaldo’s net worth has now reached an estimated $1.4 billion, which is equivalent to more than Rs 393 billion in Pakistani currency. This monumental achievement places the 40-year-old among a rare elite of athletes who have crossed the billion-dollar threshold during their careers.

Ronaldo’s wealth saw a significant boost following his latest deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr, signed in June, reportedly valued at around $400 million. His contract with the club — one of the most lucrative in sports history — further cemented his position as both a football legend and a global business icon.

Between 2002 and 2023, Ronaldo earned over $550 million solely in salary, according to Bloomberg. In addition, his long-term endorsement deal with Nike, worth approximately $18 million annually, contributed massively to his fortune.

Beyond football, Ronaldo has built a vast business empire, including CR7-branded hotels, perfumes, clothing lines, and fitness centers, which continue to expand his financial portfolio.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s remarkable journey from humble beginnings in Madeira to becoming the first billionaire footballer symbolizes not only unmatched sporting excellence but also his enduring influence as one of the most marketable athletes in global sports history.
