Sheikhupura (22 September 2025) — Federal Minister for Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, stated that Israel was compelled to apologize at the United Nations Security Council due to Pakistan’s robust foreign policy.

In a media briefing, Rana Tanveer Hussain criticized Israel’s recent actions in Qatar, calling the attack a “final degree of Israeli hypocrisy.” He added that despite the Israeli offensive, the jailed so-called leader of the Muslim world remained silent.

The minister also criticized the political stance of PTI, claiming that the party’s policies are against Pakistan’s national interests. He attributed the rising terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to measures taken by PTI’s founder.

Addressing Pakistan’s defense ties with Saudi Arabia, Rana Tanveer Hussain emphasized the emotional and strategic bond between the two countries, asserting that “every Pakistani child is ready to protect the Haramain Sharifain.”

Regarding Pakistan’s nuclear program, he clarified that it is solely for the protection of the country and the welfare of its citizens. He reiterated that Pakistan’s strong diplomatic approach was responsible for forcing Israel to issue an apology in the UN Security Council.

On questions about flood devastation in Punjab, Rana Tanveer Hussain assured that the Chief Minister of Punjab would remain actively engaged until the rehabilitation of flood-affected communities is complete. He also highlighted a comprehensive farmers’ package being introduced to ensure better wheat production and support agricultural resilience.

The minister’s statements underline Pakistan’s emphasis on strategic diplomacy, national security, and domestic welfare initiatives, positioning the country as a proactive player in regional and international affairs.
