Karachi Police Arrest Six Drug Dealers in Targeted Operations Across District City

In a series of targeted operations, the District City Police Karachi announced the arrest of six professional drug dealers from various neighborhoods, highlighting ongoing efforts to dismantle narcotics networks operating in the metropolis.

Details of the Arrests

According to a statement issued by the spokesperson of District City Police, the operations were carried out under the jurisdiction of multiple police stations, including Baghdadi, Kalakot, Chakiwara, and Kalri. The suspects were apprehended with a significant quantity of drugs, which were seized as evidence.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Abid alias “Parchoon Wala”
  • Muhammad Javed
  • Gul Muhammad alias Baba
  • Danish Niazi
  • Faisal
  • Nadeem

Police officials confirmed that all six men are habitual and professional criminals, long associated with narcotics trafficking and related crimes.

Criminal Histories of the Accused

Among those arrested, Abid alias Parchoon Wala is a notorious figure in Karachi’s underworld. According to police records, he has previously been arrested in six separate cases involving illegal weapons and drug dealing. Each time, he served time in jail but allegedly resumed his criminal activities after release.

Another suspect, Nadeem, also has a criminal past. He was earlier arrested in a case related to illegal arms possession and served time behind bars.

The other accused individuals are said to be mid-level operators who supplied drugs to various neighborhoods in the city, often targeting vulnerable youth.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Police confirmed that First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered against all six suspects at the relevant police stations. After initial interrogation, the accused have been handed over to investigation officials for further legal proceedings. Authorities are now focusing on tracing their wider networks, including financiers and suppliers, to curb the drug trade in Karachi.

Police Statement

The District City Police spokesperson stated:

“The arrested individuals are habitual offenders and part of professional drug-selling groups. We are committed to uprooting the narcotics trade in Karachi and will continue our targeted operations. Strict action will also be taken against any facilitators found supporting these criminals.”

The spokesperson added that intelligence-based raids are ongoing in various parts of the city to break the backbone of drug trafficking mafias that have long plagued communities.

Broader Context

Karachi, Pakistan’s largest metropolitan hub, has long struggled with the menace of drug trafficking and illegal arms circulation. Areas such as Lyari, which fall under the jurisdictions of Baghdadi, Kalakot, Chakiwara, and Kalri police stations, have historically been hotspots for gang wars and drug smuggling. While the law-and-order situation in Lyari has improved significantly over the last decade, isolated incidents of narcotics dealing continue to surface.

The arrests of these six suspects are being hailed as another step towards eliminating narcotics mafias from Karachi’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. Law enforcement authorities believe that by removing repeat offenders like Abid and Nadeem, they can significantly reduce the circulation of drugs in the city.

Public Reassurance

Karachi Police emphasized that they remain vigilant and urged citizens to report any suspicious activity related to drugs or arms in their localities. Public cooperation, they noted, is critical to sustaining long-term success in the fight against narcotics.

The spokesperson concluded that the District City Police would continue such operations to ensure “a drug-free and peaceful Karachi for all its residents.”
