Quetta: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to combating terrorism, saying that no amount of violence can weaken the people’s attachment to Pakistan.

Addressing a ceremony held in Quetta to mark the death anniversary of Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, Bugti said, “No matter how many attacks terrorists carry out, we will never abandon Pakistan’s flag. The people of Balochistan love Pakistan.”

Referring to recent security incidents, the chief minister said that 11 Pakistan Army personnel were martyred in Bela three days ago, while five innocent barbers were killed in another attack the following day. He questioned whether such acts reflected the traditions of Balochistan and asked why there had not been stronger public condemnation or protests against the killings.

Bugti described the violence as part of a broader conspiracy aimed at destabilizing the province, stressing that all segments of society must unite to defeat those responsible.

The chief minister also revealed that his younger brother was injured in a terrorist attack two months ago, but continues to remain active in the fight against terrorism. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the Frontier Corps (FC), Balochistan Police, and Pakistan’s armed forces, saying they have rendered immense sacrifices in maintaining peace and security.

He further remarked that while security personnel continue to lay down their lives in the line of duty, accusations are often directed against the state instead of those responsible for the violence.

Paying homage to Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, Bugti said his martyrdom would always be remembered as a significant chapter in Balochistan’s history. He added that Raisani remained on the front lines during some of the province’s most difficult times and dedicated his life to promoting peace and stability.
