Larkana : A special ceremony was organized at the Begum Nusrat Bhutto Memorial Hall in Larkana to mark Pakistan’s 79th Independence Day and highlight the spirit of inclusion, equality and participation of persons with disabilities.

The event was attended by representatives of four government departments and partner organizations working for persons with disabilities, as well as children, parents and members of civil society.

On the occasion, children expressed their love for Pakistan, national unity and the spirit of independence through colourful tableaus, speeches and other creative performances. Their presentations were warmly appreciated and encouraged by the participants.

Demonstrating their abilities and talents, the children conveyed the message that disability cannot become a barrier to their capabilities, dreams or their desire to contribute to the nation.

Larkana Deputy Mayor Muhammad Amin Sheikh, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh Khair Muhammad Sheikh, Regional Head Zahida Ghaus Kakapoto, Deputy Director Saeed Ahmed Jatoi, Deputy Director Akbar Khokhar, Riaz Hussain Abbasi, Altaf Thebo and others appreciated the performances of the children and encouraged them.

The speakers expressed solidarity with Pakistan’s independence, national unity and the equal rights of persons with disabilities. They emphasized that building a strong and developed Pakistan requires providing equal opportunities, dignity and social inclusion to every segment of society, particularly persons with disabilities.

The participants reiterated their commitment to building a Pakistan where every individual can progress according to their abilities and where no disability becomes an obstacle to a person’s rights, dignity or opportunities.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, prayers were offered for the security, development, prosperity and stability of Pakistan. The participants expressed their joy on the occasion of Independence Day by chanting “Pakistan Zindabad.”
