Mirpurkhas Police Arrest 1,370 Suspects in Six Months, Recover Stolen Goods Worth Millions

In a major crackdown on crime, Mirpurkhas Police has made significant strides over the past six months by arresting 1,370 suspects wanted in various criminal cases. Under the strict directives of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mirpurkhas, Mr. Samar Noor Channa, law enforcement agencies have intensified operations to curb street crimes, drug trade, possession of illegal arms, and other illicit activities.

According to the official police record, the arrested individuals were involved in various crimes, including robbery, theft, murder, drug trafficking, and possession of illegal weapons. The operations led to the recovery of a staggering Rs. 6 million in looted cash, 36 motorcycles, 13 mobile phones, and 5 stolen vehicles.

Further details reveal that 23 notorious criminal gangs were dismantled during this period. From these gangs, police confiscated 3 cars, 13 motorcycles, 11 mobile phones, and cash amounting to Rs. 6.123 million. Additionally, items worth Rs. 1.1 million were also recovered, including 15 pistols and other valuables.

The district also witnessed notable success in solving murder cases. Police apprehended 23 suspects involved in 15 murder cases, presenting them before courts. Besides these, 12 proclaimed offenders and 109 absconders were also captured and legally processed.

Action Against Narcotics

In the ongoing campaign against drugs, Mirpurkhas Police registered 180 cases related to narcotics and arrested 230 suspects. During these operations, a substantial quantity of illegal drugs was seized, including:

  • 52 kilograms of hashish (charas)
  • 399 grams of methamphetamine (Ice)
  • 500 grams of crystal meth
  • Over 2 kilograms of opium
  • 54 grams of heroin
  • 652 bottles of whiskey
  • Approximately 79,000 liters of raw alcohol

These recoveries highlight the extensive effort being made to eliminate drug networks operating in the region.

Crackdown on Gutka Mafia

Simultaneously, the crackdown against the gutka and mawa mafia also intensified. A total of 199 cases were registered, resulting in the arrest of 287 suspects. From these individuals, the police recovered:

  • 368 kg of mainpuri
  • 951 grams of gutka
  • 162 kg of mawa
  • 957 kg of ‘Safeena’ gutka
  • 1,000 grams of various types of gutka
  • 25,000 kg of raw material used in gutka production

These large-scale recoveries point towards a thriving black market of illegal tobacco and pan products, which has now been severely disrupted due to persistent police action.

Illegal Arms Seizure

To prevent crimes involving firearms, the Mirpurkhas Police also took strong action against illegal arms possession. As many as 41 cases were registered, and 41 suspects were taken into custody. From them, law enforcement confiscated:

  • 38 pistols
  • 2 rifles
  • 117 rounds of live ammunition

This proactive approach has played a vital role in reducing gun-related incidents in the district.

Other Notable Arrests

  • In cases related to sexual assault, police managed to arrest 4 suspects.
  • Regarding illegal gambling and lottery (aakra-parchi), 6 cases were filed and 37 suspects were apprehended.
