Akhtar Mengal Offloaded from Private Flight, Prevented from Leaving the Country
Quetta (Sunday, July 20, 2025) – Sardar Akhtar Mengal, leader of the Balochistan National Party (BNP), was stopped from traveling abroad and offloaded from a private airline flight bound for Dubai. According to FIA officials, Mengal was prevented from boarding due to his name being on the Provisional National Identification List (PNIL).
Commenting on the incident, Sardar Akhtar Mengal said, “I was supposed to travel to Dubai, but I was offloaded. The immigration staff informed me that my name is on the Provisional National Identification List.”
Former federal ministers Agha Hassan and Ghulam Nabi Mari condemned the move, calling it illegal and unconstitutional. They stated that Akhtar Mengal is still a sitting member of the National Assembly and that his resignation has not yet been formally accepted.
