The Pakistan Peoples Party Sukkur City organized a key general workers’ convention at Union Council 05, Town Municipal Corporation Nisar Ahmed Siddiqui, focusing on organizational restructuring at the UC and ward levels.

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Arshad Mughal, President of PPP Sukkur City and Deputy Mayor of Sukkur. He was accompanied by General Secretary Ehsan Ahmed Lashari and Information Secretary Ghazanfar Ansari. The session was hosted by Khalid Hussain Mako and Mukhtiar Hussain Mehr.

Prominent attendees included Town Vice Chairman Zulfiqar Khoso, UC Chairman Mir Abdul Rehman Mengal, Hari Committee President Khadim Malik, Youth Wing Sukkur President Aurangzeb Qureshi, SPAF City President Amir Noonari, Youth Wing General Secretary Waheed Mangi, SPAF General Secretary Asad Malik, Youth Wing Vice President Bilal Mughal, and SPAF Senior Vice President Owais Shaikh.
A large number of elected representatives, senior leaders, and young activists from UC-05 also attended the event.

Strengthening the Party’s Organizational Foundations

Addressing the participants, Dr. Arshad Mughal emphasized that organizational development is the backbone of any political movement. “A strong organization ensures effective public service,” he stated. “It is essential to strengthen our structures at the UC and ward levels so that PPP’s message reaches every household.”

Dr. Mughal reaffirmed that the Pakistan Peoples Party has always been the symbol of democratic struggle and public empowerment, and that the unity of the youth and senior workers will further consolidate the party’s strength.
“Every worker is our asset,” he said. “Together, under the leadership of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, we will make the PPP stronger not only in Sindh but across Pakistan.”

Response to Maryam Nawaz’s Statement

Commenting on the recent remarks made by Maryam Nawaz, Dr. Arshad Mughal said that her criticism of the PPP reflects the frustration of those political forces that have consistently damaged the spirit of federal politics.
He added, “Maryam Nawaz should realize that the PPP restored democracy through immense sacrifice and struggle, while the politics of PML-N has always revolved around power rather than principles.”
Dr. Mughal concluded that negative rhetoric cannot weaken PPP workers’ morale, which continues to grow stronger with every challenge.

Commitment to Transparency and Merit in Organization

Ehsan Ahmed Lashari, General Secretary of PPP Sukkur City, in his address, highlighted that the real strength of the party lies in its workers. He emphasized that the process of reorganization is being conducted with transparency, consultation, and merit to bring forward an active and dynamic leadership at all levels.
He further stated, “By reinforcing the UC and ward foundations, we can lead the party to new heights of success in upcoming local and general elections.”
Lashari urged all office-bearers and workers to intensify their public outreach campaigns, visit homes, listen to citizens’ concerns, and spread awareness of the PPP’s pro-people vision.

The Role of Media and Communication

In his remarks, Information Secretary Ghazanfar Ansari underscored the central role of media and social media in amplifying the party’s message.
He criticized the recent statements by PML-N spokesperson Azma Bukhari, terming them as “mere political point-scoring.” He added, “Those who lack performance or public service credentials resort to accusations and divisive rhetoric to hide their failures.”
Ansari reiterated that the PPP believes in politics of service, tolerance, and democracy, and under the vision of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, public service remains its top priority.
He vowed that PPP workers will continue to vigorously project the party’s ideology, struggle, and people-friendly policies both on-ground and through digital platforms.

Renewed Pledge of Unity and Commitment

The session concluded with a unanimous declaration of confidence in Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s leadership. Participants resolved to remain united, strengthen party organization at every level, and continue the mission of public service, inclusivity, and democratic progress in Sukkur and beyond.
