The Boat Basin Police Station team, operating under the supervision of SSP District South Karachi, conducted a successful operation that led to the arrest of a suspected drug dealer and the recovery of a significant quantity of narcotics.

According to police officials, the operation was carried out based on a credible intelligence tip-off regarding drug-peddling activities in the area. During the operation, one suspect was apprehended, while his accomplice managed to escape from the scene after throwing away a bag containing drugs.

The arrested suspect has been identified as Saqib, son of Abdullah, while the absconding accomplice was identified as Sajid alias Chee Chee, son of Fazal.

Upon searching the arrested suspect, the police recovered 506 grams of cannabis (charas), cash proceeds from drug sales, and a mobile phone used in the illegal trade.

Meanwhile, the bag discarded by the fleeing suspect Sajid was also recovered, which contained an additional 550 grams of cannabis. The police have also seized a motorcycle (registration number KOY-0036) found in the possession of the arrested suspect.

A case has been registered against the suspect under FIR No. 837/2025, Section 9(1) 3(b) of the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 2024 (CNSA), at the Boat Basin Police Station.

Following the registration of the case, the investigation has been formally handed over to the Crime Investigation Cell (CIC) Clifton Division for further legal proceedings and inquiries into the broader drug network.

A spokesperson for the SSP District South Police commended the Boat Basin team for their effective action and reaffirmed the department’s commitment to intensifying operations against drug trafficking and other criminal elements in the district.

He added that the Karachi South Police remain vigilant and dedicated to ensuring a drug-free environment, particularly in areas prone to narcotics activity. The ongoing crackdown aims to dismantle supply chains and bring drug dealers and their facilitators to justice.
